Session Description: This session discusses a unique Six Sigma project approach to improve processes between a hospital system and a large health carrier. In this case study, UnitedHealthcare collaborated with Bon Secours Hospital System in Richmond, VA, to increase the first-pass claims accuracy rate by reducing claims defects within their respective internal processes from 23 percent to less than 5 percent in nine months. This session includes project approach, statistical tools, actual project results, and translation opportunities.
